How do I get a Restricted License if this is my first offense?
First offenses age 21 or older are generally eligible to apply for a restricted license after they serve their mandatory 30-day suspension.
To qualify for a restricted license, you must electronically submit proof of enrollment in part of the DUI program to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Our program submits to the Department of Motor Vehicles your form on the day you enroll. The Department of Motor Vehicles requires a fee payment of $125.00 (cost may vary) It also requires the SR22 form from your insurance company.
I got a “wet wreckless” offence. What about my driver’s license?
If you are over 21 years of age, with a DUI charge, with an alcohol level of .08 or higher but your conviction is threatened by a wet daredevil, you have choices to make. The court will regularly order you to complete 12 hours of the program. If you did not have an OA but the suspension has been temporarily stopped, you will have two choices to choose from on your license.
The lowest conviction offense on a wet reckless will be reported by the court to the Department of Motor Vehicles. The Department of Motor Vehicles will suspend your license for four months. You will be able to take the 12-hour program and a four-month suspension. The other option is to serve a 30-day suspension and enroll in a longer first-offense program, 3 months that has a restricted license provision.
What would happen to my restricted license if I was suspended from the program?
They would notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of their termination or if the program and their license would be re-suspended.
